Nic Macken is an up and coming folk-jazz singer-songwriter hailing from Ngurra (Blue Mountains, NSW). His biggest musical crush has always been harmony. Growing up listening to the likes of Joanna Newsom and Stevie Wonder, he has been writing songs and exploring unusual harmonic playgrounds since age 10. After picking up the guitar, completing a Bachelor Of Music and doing over 100 shows with The Spooky Men's Chorale, Nic has since developed a cozy and nuanced sound aesthetic with blends of bossa nova, folk, and jazz being topped with a sprinkle of earnest story-telling. His songs explore themes of introspection, heartbreak and connection with nature, often with subtle undertones of optimistic-nihilism.
